Jose Fernandez of Superior Shine in Arcadia, CA along with a dozen high-end Pacific Coast detailers begin detailing an historical WWII B-24J Bomber, Thursday, May 9 at 8:00 a.m. at John Wayne Airport in Santa Ana, CA. It was one of only two WWII B-24s to return from its original squadron of 19 planes after shooting down 14 enemy fighters in a single mission over the Pacific.

Today, the B-24J Bomber, located at the Lyon Air Museum at JWA, is the only one in the world still flying. Fernandez, a master Los Angeles detailer, says once he saw the plane and its present condition, he could not resist volunteering to lead a dozen master detailers in a pro bono project to wash, wax, detail, and polish the historic plane.

The project is made possible with help from aerospace industry leader Ace Clearwater Enterprises in Torrance, CA who is covering the cost of insurance and other incidentals; and Meguiars, a supplier of professional car care products.
