Thanks to the generosity of the Florence, KY community, Mike’s Carwash will donate $6,127 to the city of Florence and its "adopted" military unit, the 101st Airborne Division, 2nd Brigade, 502nd Airborne Infantry Unit.

The money was raised in May during Mike’s Carwash Grand Opening/Charity Event when customers were given a free Works wash. In lieu of payment for the car wash, a $15 value, customers could choose to make a donation to support the non-profit organization. Close to 2,600 Works washes were provided over the two-day period.

The donated funds will help defray the costs of bringing the active duty soldiers from the 101st Airborne to Florence later this month. The Renegades, as the troops from Fort Campbell, KY are known, will be honored guests at Florence’s Memorial Day parade.

"The city has been honored to support the Renegades during their various deployments, and we are excited to welcome the entire unit to Florence," said Florence Mayor Diane E. Whalen. "These funds will be put to good use to help with lodging, meals, and other expenses for the soldiers. We have a very generous community, and we thank them and Mike’s Carwash for the commitment to America’s military personnel."

Mike’s Carwash Inc., which operates 42 locations in Indiana, Ohio and Kentucky, is the 4th largest exterior-only car wash chain in the country. Mike’s opened its state-of-the-art facility in Florence in January.
