VERC Enterprises, a car wash, convenience store, and Mobil/Gulf/Irving gasoline operator with locations throughout Eastern Massachusetts and New Hampshire and owner of Mayflower Provisions in Plymouth, MA, has announced that Courtney Buckley, manager of training, development, and fun, has been named to the prestigious “40 Under 40” list by CStore Decisions.
Buckley, who joined VERC Enterprises in 2011 as a category manager, is responsible for producing training manuals and written procedures for associates, shift leaders, and team leaders in addition to developing specialized training in specific categories. She takes the latter portion of her title as manager of training, development, and fun seriously by creating entertaining activities at VERC’s locations, including costume and store decorating contests and company outings.
CStore Decisions is a monthly publication that engages more than 40,000 retailers within convenience chains and covers all aspects of convenience store operation. The 2019 “40 Under 40” list highlights next generation leaders who are playing a key role in bridging the fast-changing retail environment into tomorrow’s competitive landscape by combining new communications styles and innovative ideas while keeping true to time-honored elements of convenience retailing.
“It comes as no surprise that Courtney has made the 2019 Class of ‘40 Under 40,’” said Jim Fitzgerald, president of VERC Enterprises. “She has been integral in our company’s mission to create programs and an environment that attracts and retains highly valued employees; the entire VERC family congratulates Courtney.”
