The International Car Wash Association today issued the following statement:

“After weeks of careful monitoring of the ongoing spread of the Coronavirus (COVID-19), the Board of Directors of International Carwash Association (ICA) today voted unanimously to cancel The Car Wash Show™ 2020, scheduled to be held April 6-8 at the Henry B. Gonzalez Convention Center in San Antonio, Texas. Options for rescheduling the event for later dates are being considered.”

Citing the latest guidance released yesterday by the White House Coronavirus Task Force, which broadened the recommendations to consider postponing meetings and limiting attendance for any American, the association decided that the current environment made it impossible to hold a successful event for attendees and exhibitors.

“We are extraordinarily disappointed by having to make this decision,” said Eric Wulf, ICA CEO, “but the latest guidance from public officials makes it clear that the most responsible decision is to put the safety of our guests first, and cancel the event for the original dates. We want to thank our exhibitors and show partners for their commitment and support during these challenging weeks, and we will continue to collaborate with them through this situation.”

Additional details are available at this link(https://internationalcarwashassociation.cmail19.com/t/j-l-qlisld-jtlikixuj-j/), including next steps for attendees and exhibitors. In brief, the association advises that badge registration costs for attendees will be refunded to the credit card used for the original purchase. As of March 11, 2020 all hotel reservation made through Connections Housing have been cancelled. An e-mail confirming the cancellation will be sent. Individuals should contact their air carrier for specific instructions regarding flight cancellation and/or changes. Any fees incurred in this regard cannot be refunded by the ICA.
