The International Carwash Association’s premier annual event, The Car Wash Show, took place November 15-17 at the Las Vegas Convention Center in Las Vegas, NV. Following the cancellation of the 2020 show in San Antonio, TX because of the pandemic, the 2021 event was originally scheduled for June 7-9. Due to caution regarding the then-continuing COVID-19 situation, a postponement was deemed necessary.

A pre-show program on Sunday, November 14 offered two seminars:

a management fundamentals course and a new investor program. Educational sessions for attendees at large commenced at 8:00 a.m. the following day. Programming again offered two tracks: premium and basic. PITCH Theater, previously known as Quick Hits, offered 20-minute sessions from top industry suppliers on days one and two of the show.

Awards that were announced for the 2020 show and never extended because of the cancellation, were finally presented to the recipients at an invitation-only president’s reception on Monday evening.

• Richard Enning, past ICA president and CEO of the Essen, Germany-based Mr. Wash car wash chain, was presented with the 2020 Distinguished Service Award.

• Anthony Analetto, president of Sonny’s CarWash Equipment Division — and Auto Laundry News columnist — received the first-ever Distinguished Achievement Award.

• The late Dan Pecora, in life owner of Erie Brush & Manufacturing Corp., was inducted into the Car Wash Hall of Fame on April 22, 2020, mere days before his passing on April 26. Acknowledging the ICA’s highest honor in his stead at the reception was his son Robert, Erie’s current owner.

No awards were announced for 2021 save for the Brian Campbell Best Booth Award that was announced on the last day of the show and won by Motor City Wash Works.

The Car Wash Show 2022 is scheduled for May 9-11 at the Music City Center in Nashville, TN. For further information, please visit www.thecarwashshow.com or call 888 422-8422.
