Last year, the ICA and the Western Carwash Association joined forces in presenting The Car Wash Show. This year, the partnership was expanded by adding to the mix the Automotive Oil Change Association’s iFlex. The educational programming reflected the event’s component parts, with seminars covering general business and car wash topics as well as issues specific to operators in the western states and fast lube operators.

According to the organizers, more than 7,900 individuals attended the show. This compares favorably with the 6,800-plus who gathered for the 2015 show in Las Vegas, a venue that reliably draws better-than-average attendance.

During the General Session on Tuesday, May 10 the association bestowed car washing’s highest honor, induction into the Car Wash Hall of Fame, on Bob Hodge of the Hodge Car Wash Equipment Company. The Community Service Leadership Award went to Rising Tide Car Wash in Parkland, FL. Rising Tide provides people with autism opportunities to build a career and achieve an independent lifestyle.

For 2017, The Car Wash Show returns to Las Vegas. The event is scheduled for April 4-6 at the Las Vegas Convention Center. For information, contact the ICA at (888) ICA-8422 or visit www.thecarwashshow.com.
