The Southwest Car Wash Association’s Annual Convention and Car Wash Expo for 2020 takes place in Fort Worth, TX, running from Wednesday, January 29 through Friday, January 31. The location for the show is the Fort Worth Convention Center, the first venue change in many a year.
The CEO Forum, the opening session on Wednesday starting at 12:30 p.m., features Arthur Greeno, a multi-store franchisee of Chick-Fil-A for the past 26 years of this 30-year involvement with the fast-food purveyor. Greeno is also an Amazon best-selling author, mentor , and coach. Greeno teaches business owners how to create a unique culture in his own lighthearted, irreverant, and down-to-earth way. He is the author of two books, Dysfunctional Inspiration and Breaking Conformity, the latter making the Amazon Best Seller list in one day.
The tradeshow floor opens immediately following the CEO Forum. In all, between Wednesday and Thursday, the event offers attendees more than eight hours of visiting time with exhibitors, who will be occupying over 80,000 square feet of exhibit space up from approximately 70,000 square feet last year.
The additional space was surely, in part, responsible for the decision to change venues. The show had simply outgrown the otherwise excellent facilities in Arlington. There is little chance of that happening in the near future in Fort Worth since the convention center there boasts a total of 253,226 available square feet of exhibit space.
The keynote speaker during the General Session on Thursday will be former vice president Dick Cheney. Cheney dedicated more than four decades of his life to public service, starting with the Ford administration. Subsequently, in 1978, he was elected as Wyoming’s sole member in the House of Representatives and re-elected five times. In 1989, he was nominated by President George H.W. Bush as secretary of defense and served four years. In 2000, Cheney was elected as President George W. Bush’s vice president and was reelected for a second term in 2004.
The educational program on Thursday includes the ever-popular round table discussions and idea exchange sessions. The evening brings an opportunity to relax and visit with peers: The Celebrate SCWA event takes place at the Fort Worth Stock Show and Rodeo held in the new Dickies Arena.
On Friday morning, the Car Wash Academy presents several concurrent educational sessions covering diverse subjects. This is followed by the closing luncheon.
