The 31st annual Northeast Regional Carwash Convention (NRCC) took place October 4-6 at the Atlantic City Convention Center, Atlantic City, NJ. Despite obvious headwinds brought on by the ongoing health crisis, the association reported new attendance highs for the event.
Nearly 1,000 car washers streamed into the Atlantic City Convention Center over the two days of trade show action, setting a new barometer of success.
The event kicked off on Monday, October 4th with a virtual car wash tour. Things got into high gear on Tuesday with a full docket of educational sessions featuring the popular early bird panel discussion, and a talk on how to turn a difficult customer into a lifelong fan of the brand.
The highlight of the educational agenda was a rousing keynote address from former New Jersey Governor Chris Christie, who was treated to a standing ovation following his nearly one-hour speech. Following the keynote, the annual luncheon and award ceremony honored two industry standouts:
• Emerging Leader Recipient, Cody Piel of Hoffman Car Wash
• Guiding Light Award Recipient, Megan O’Connor of Lewicky, O’Connor, Hunt & Meiser
Immediately following the luncheon, the trade show floor was open for five hours of networking and exploration, and the day concluded with a cocktail reception. The event ended on Wednesday with 4.5 more hours of show floor activity.
Atlantic City will once again host the annual event in 2022, with the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino serving as the official hotel, September 19-21. To learn more visit nrccshow.com.
