The 27th annual Northeast Regional Carwash Convention was held September 19-21 at the Atlantic City Convention Center for the second year in a row. The New England Carwash Association played host for the event, which was well attended, by exhibitors and conventioneers alike, in the spacious Convention Center.
The action kicked off on Monday September 19 with two educational sessions: one focused on the in-bay and self-serve segment, and the other on conveyor washing.
The convention and trade show got into full swing on Tuesday with an early bird panel discussion and breakfast, a presentation on building life-long customer loyalty, and how to get the most out of social media. Capping the morning’s education sessions was a keynote address by JoAnna Brandi, president, JoAnna Brandi & Company, who discussed the power of positivity and how to get the most out of your employees and business with an optimistic outlook on business and life.
Following the keynote, attendees filed into the awards luncheon where they saw two industry leaders honored for their efforts. Dave DuGoff of College Park Car Wash, College Park, MD, was inducted into the NRCC Hall of Fame. While Patti Kaplan of Starlite Car Wash in North Reading, MA took home the Most Distinguished Person Award. Following the awards lunch the exhibit hall was open for five and a half hours, with a cocktail reception to follow.
The event came to a close on Wednesday with a breakfast discussion of keeping employees and customers satisfied and a presentation on the basics of social media. The final day of the event concluded with four more hours of exhibit hall.
The 2017 NRCC will once again be held in the Atlantic City Convention Center, October 2-4. Visit www.nrccshow.com for more information.
