Ten outstanding schoolteachers from across the country were honored this week as part of Mister Car Wash’s Inspiring Futures – Teacher Appreciation program. Winners each received a $500 grant for their classroom and a complimentary annual Unlimited Wash Club® pass. The total value of the awards given to teachers totaled over $32,000.

According to Ciera Lopez, community relations specialist with Tucson, AZ-based Mister Car Wash, the company’s teacher appreciation campaign began April 3, when Mister Car Wash invited customers to nominate a teacher who inspires others to shine by sharing their story. The response was immediate with many customers sharing stories of inspiration about teachers who are making a difference every day. The company received over 1,000 submissions that represented classrooms in each of the cities where they operate locations.

“I personally reviewed every nomination and was blown away by the tremendous impact these individuals are having on our communities, said Lopez. In addition to awarding 10 grand prizes, Mister Car Wash sent every nominee a complimentary platinum car wash pass and letter of appreciation, according to Lopez.

“Recognizing and celebrating exemplary teachers is by far one of the most gratifying things a CEO gets to do,” said company CEO John Lai. “Hopefully every adult can look back on their childhood and point to a teacher who really made a difference in their life.”
