On Saturday, March 31, the Ponderosa High School Marching Band raised over $700 at a car wash fundraiser held at Kwik Car Wash in Parker, CO. In addition to earning 50 percent of wash sales for the duration of the fundraiser, the students were able to raise additional funds by vacuuming and towel drying vehicles on site.
The band performs for home football games and takes part in competitions during the fall. The band has been state champions nine times since the school opened. Marching band season begins with sectional practices over the summer and a weeklong band camp just prior to school beginning. The season concludes with the Colorado Bandmasters Association state championships in late October.
