Honoring Puget Sound area veterans, Seattle-based Brown Bear Car Wash donated $10,630 to support “honor flights” in addition to providing 2,386 free car washes for veterans and current members of the military on Veterans Day, November 11, 2014.

The car wash chain raised the amount by donating $1 for every paid tunnel wash on Veterans Day to Honor Flight (www.pugetsoundhonorflight.org). Puget Sound Honor Flight provides free “honor flights” for veterans visiting Washington D.C. memorials built in their honor. Priority is given to senior veterans, including World War II survivors and veterans who may be terminally ill.

Puget Sound Honor Flight is supported solely through individual donations and corporate support. No federal funds are allocated to this program. The Puget Sound organization and other Honor Flight hubs throughout the United States have provided over 100,000 free “honor flights.”
