During 2013, Autobell® Car Wash’s Charity Car Wash Program helped raise $740,603 for charities, schools, and other nonprofits in North and South Carolina, Virginia, and Georgia. The Charlotte-based company’s program began in 1998 and has assisted nonprofits in raising over $6.24 million to date.

Through the program, Autobell provides 501(c)(3) groups with full-service car wash tickets custom-printed with the organization’s name that are sold by the nonprofit at full price and honored at all Autobell locations. Fundraisers keep 50 percent of the proceeds from all ticket sales.

Some notable Autobell fundraisers in 2013 included a Union County, NC high school booster club with proceeds of $11,715; a Raleigh, NC charter school camp that brought in $3,802; a Chesapeake, VA Boy Scout troop that raised $2,677; and a Cabarrus County, NC 7th grade fund that garnered $10,642.

"There’s no need for organizers to plan and execute a parking lot car wash or other large-scale fundraiser, worry about rain dates, or incur any upfront cost,” said Chuck Howard, Autobell president and CEO. "And since all Autobell locations treat 100 percent of the wash water used and recycle up to 100 percent, organizations can feel satisfied they’re encouraging supporters to utilize the most environmentally friendly method for washing their cars."

Autobell Car Wash is America’s third largest conveyor car wash company, with 65 locations in North and South Carolina, Virginia, and Georgia. The company was founded in 1969 in Charlotte, NC, and remains privately held and family-operated.
