The 30th Northeast Regional Carwash Convention (NRCC) took place September 23-25 at the Atlantic City Convention Center in New Jersey. It was a record-breaking event. “We had the largest show floor in our history with 348 exhibits, and 1847 attendees,” said show co-chairman, Mike Benmosche. “It was a great way to celebrate 30 years of this event, and 30 years of hard work,” he added.
For the third consecutive year, the event kicked off with a virtual car wash tour on Monday, September 23. Day two began with the traditional Early Bird Breakfast. The lively, organic discussion focused on a variety of industry issues and concerns.
Several educational sessions preceded the keynote address by Moo Moo Car Wash’s John Roush who spoke on “The Culture of Care.” The annual Awards Luncheon followed during which several individuals were honored:
* Carlos Robledo of AquaTech Car Wash Solutions in Germantown, MD, and Shane Alden of Hoffman Car Wash in Albany, NY, each received an Emerging Leader Award.
* Sandy Murphy of Professional Carwashing & Detailing magazine was the first recipient of the Guiding Light Award.
* The NRCC’s Most Distinguished Person award went to three individuals: Tom Hoffman, Jr., of Hoffman Car Wash in Albany, NY; Jeff Gold of Buckman’s Car Wash in Rochester, NY; and Brett Benderson of Delta Sonic Car Washes in Buffalo, NY.
* The NRCC’s highest honor, induction into the NRCC Hall of Fame, was bestowed on Innovative Control Systems/Sparkle Car Wash’s Kevin Detrick for his support and involvement in the show from its inception.
The 2020 NRCC is scheduled for October 5-7 and is hosted by the Mid-Atlantic Carwash Association. To learn more visit nrccshow.com
