The 2021 Northeast Regional Carwash Convention (NRCC) runs from Monday, October 4 through Wednesday, October 6 and, as it has for the past several years, takes place at the Atlantic City Convention Center. For hotel accommodation, the event returns to the Atlantic City Boardwalk with the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino designated the headquarter hotel. The Mid-Atlantic Carwash Association is host for the show. The other participating associations are Car Wash Operators of New Jersey, the Connecticut Carwash Association, the New York State Car Wash Association, and the New England Carwash Association.
The virtual car wash tour returns on Monday afternoon as the opening presentation of the educational program. Site visits include washes in Pennsylvania, Virginia, New York, and North Carolina.
Tuesday morning is filled with educational opportunities, starting with a show favorite: the Early Bird Panel Discussion. This informal presentation allows attendees to have their car wash related questions answered by seasoned operators. This is followed by Big Ass Fan founder Carey Smith’s presentation titled “How Embracing a ‘Fail Fast’ Approach Can Help You Succeed.” Smith will share his contrarian business practices and discuss how hetells his employees, “If you’re not making mistakes, you’re not working.” That’s because growth comes only from taking risks.
The keynote speaker on Tuesday is former New Jersey Governor Chris Christie. A politician, political commentator, lobbyist, and former federal prosecutor, Christie served as the55th governor of New Jersey from 2010 to 2018. He is the author of Let Me Finish, a no-holds-barred account of his rise to power. He sought the Republican Party’s nomination for president in 2016 and subsequently served as chairman of the Trump Presidential Transition Committee. Christie is a graduate of the University of Delaware and received his Juris Doctor degree from Seton Hall University in 1987.
