After a run of 33 years, the Western Car Wash Show comes to an end as a separate event. Beginning in 2015, the show will be folded into The Car Wash Show, which is presented annually by the International Carwash Association. For its final appearance, the Western Car Wash Show is setting up shop at the Rio Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas, NV. The event runs from Tuesday, October 28 through Thursday, October 30.

For 2014, the convention program returns to its familiar three-day format. New this year is the Car Wash Tour & Roadshow that occupies all of Tuesday morning. Other than that, the program holds few surprises. Attendees will find the expected industry-specific educational sessions, including the popular roundtables. The WCA has recruited speakers with various business backgrounds to offer their insights to car washers:

• Edgar Papke, a CEO and executive coach, will address attendees on Tuesday afternoon. His presentation, “True Alignment: Linking Company Culture with Customer Needs for Extraordinary Results,” takes its title from the 2013 book he authored. Over the past 20 years, as a speaker, trainer, and facilitator, he has delivered over 2,000 keynote speeches, presentations, and workshops.

• Liliana Salazar will address the General Session on Wednesday on the subject of “Affordable Healthcare.” As an employee-benefits-compliance professional with Wells Fargo Insurance, Salazar has extensive experience addressing employers’ responsibilities under federal, state, and local laws. She is a regular speaker at national and state conferences sponsored by private and public employers and a contributor to employee-benefit publications.

• Dan Quiggle will deliver the keynote address on Wednesday morning. The presentation is titled “Excellence in Leadership.” Quiggle began his professional career in the office of President Ronald Reagan and was recently recognized as one of the top speakers for Vistage, a nationwide CEO think tank. He has shared his message of business success and motivation with America’s top corporations and associations, including Genworth Financial, Merrill Lynch, Wells Fargo, and Coldwell Banker.
